Core Liberal Arts modules
The core modules contribute 40 credits to the 120 annual course credits.
Introduction to Liberal Arts
An introduction to the history of liberal arts education and overview of the global opportunities provided by a skills-intensive, culturally-rich liberal arts degree.
Critical Thinking from a Global Perspective
Investigates the construction and presentation of information allowing students to critically assess the arguments, reasoning, facts and logics behind it. Includes insight on differing global perspectives on knowledge and knowing.
Leading, Learning and Exchange
A unique alternative to traditional work placements. Provides opportunities for students to apply their evolving knowledge and skills to real-world situations. It matches students with researchers, charities, organisations or groups who work on global challenges and enables them to direct their skills directly to a particular issue. With a focus on global contexts and third sector partners it helps to define students as engaged citizens.
Interdisciplinary Methodologies, Global Challenges
Allows students to engage with our world-leading research community; our world-leading researchers to translate their global research into teachable methodologies that students can apply to their own projects and research.
Students tackle various problems and issues integrated in teams alongside our Natural Science students. The cross-disciplinary nature brings challenging perspectives and unique opportunities to develop innovative solutions.
