Beacon fellowships

Join our research leaders of tomorrow. Opportunities are available to become a Nottingham or Anne McLaren Research Fellow in our world-class research Beacons of Excellence.

We have a long-standing reputation for transformative, world-class research. Our pioneering, multidisciplinary and collaborative approach delivers sutainable solutions to global challenges.

Nottingham is making an unparalleled investment in both our research and our people, which will further enhance our international standing as one of the UK's powerhouses for transformative research.

As part of this investment, the University is investing in six Beacons of Excellence, which will champion our field-leading responses to global challenges, and recruiting 100 Nottingham and Anne McLaren Research Fellows by the end of 2022, a proportion of which will support the research programmes of the Beacons.

This recruitment opportunity combines these two key themes, inviting applications for Nottingham and Anne McLaren Research Fellowships to support our Beacons of Excellence. Beacon fellows will be supported to develop an independent research career, whilst actively contributing to the aims of the Beacon research programme.

This opportunity is runs in parallel to our recruitment for the standard Nottingham and Anne McLaren Research Fellowships. Beacon fellow appointment can through our standard recruitment rounds, but opportunities are also available at other points in the year.  Please check this page for updates
