The Disability Support team provides support and advice for students who consider themselves to be disabled, including those who have long-term medical conditions. We are available to meet by appointment with students in Cherry Tree Lodge on University Park, Room A06 in the Amenities Building on Jubilee and in A14, off the Guild Room, in the Barn at Sutton Bonington, as well as being available to meet students at other locations by arrangement. Please use the icons below to explore our pages and follow the contact details link if you wish to arrange an appointment.
From Monday 2nd July until Friday 14th September 2018 the Accessibility Team will be available for student appointments between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. each day. Some appointments will be available at QMC, Sutton Bonington, Derby and Jubilee during the vacation period – staff and students should check with Disability-Support@nottingham.ac.uk and/or Dyslexia-Support@nottingham.ac.uk.
We will offer urgent appointments only at University Park during week beginning Monday 17th September as this is likely to be the time we are processing pre-entry accommodations.
All requests for adjustments to examination arrangements must be supported by evidence:
Dr Lisa Rüll - a Study Support Tutor based in Academic Support who has extensive experience of supporting disabled students to develop their study strategies - is now providing appointments for disabled students. These sessions could cover issues such as reading strategies, revision techniques, preparation and planning for writing, and time management.
How to access a session
Disabled students already in contact with Disability Advisers will be able to discuss a referral to meet with Lisa.
When will sessions be available?
Appointments are available with Lisa on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays in Cherry Tree Lodge, University Park. On Thursdays she is available at Jubilee in Xu Yafen Building. There will also be visits scheduled to the Graduate Centres.
