Students from Hong Kong would not normally require a foundation programme as Hong Kong HKDSE are widely accepted for undergraduate entry.

Our foundation courses

We offer foundation courses for students who are not qualified for direct undergraduate entry.

  • Business, Law and Social Sciences, taught at The University of Nottingham International College.
  • Engineering and Physical Sciences, taught in our Faculty of Engineering.
  • Science, taught at The University of Nottingham International College.

Please contact The University of Nottingham International College, which is located opposite our University Park Campus, with any queries about entry requirements and how to apply.

Undergraduate courses

Full-time courses across our five faculties typically last for three to four years, although some degrees such as medicine and architecture have a longer duration.

Undergraduate entry requirements

Our Undergraduate Prospectus lists entry requirements for A levels (including HKALE) and International Baccalaureate students for each course.

If you have taken HKDSE, we can typically accept grades ranging from 5*55 to 555.

This summary is provided as guidance and requirements may vary for individual courses, which often require high grades in relevant subjects.

The HKDSE Liberal Studies, Chinese or English Language subjects cannot be accepted as part of the programme offer.

Students who have completed at least one year at a university in Hong Kong and achieved good grades can be considered for direct entry to our undergraduate degree courses.

We can accept HKDSE grades 4 and above as meeting our English language requirements.

Students taking APs or SATIIs should refer to entry requirements for the USA.

"I chose University of Nottingham due to its highly reputable name in pharmacy. Its pioneering 5-year course in pharmacy with an integrated pre-registration training is also a big attraction. It proposes that this scheme would allow students to better integrate their training and their academic studies together, leading to better preparation for students to become qualified professionals.

My favourite thing is the wide variety of societies our university provides. There’s a society (or a couple, even!) for everyone! It ranges from sports to faculties, cultural to interests… almost anything you can think of!"

Edith Leung from Hong Kong, studying MPharm Pharmacy.
