Entry requirements

Foundation courses

Students from Singapore are normally not required to complete a foundation course as Singapore GCE A Level is accepted for undergraduate entry.

Our foundation courses

Students who have completed their O Levels can be considered for entry into our foundation courses with a minimum of 5 Bs including Maths and Physics for Engineering and Physical Sciences, Maths and Biology or Chemistry for Science and Maths for Social Sciences and Business.

We offer foundation courses for students who are not qualified for direct undergraduate entry.

  • Business, Law and Social Sciences, taught at The University of Nottingham International College.
  • Engineering and Physical Sciences, taught in our Faculty of Engineering.
  • Science, taught at The University of Nottingham International College.

Undergraduate courses

Full-time courses across our five faculties typically last for three to four years, although some degrees such as medicine and architecture have a longer duration.

Undergraduate entry requirements

Students taking A levels or the IB should refer to the online undergraduate prospectus for entry requirements. We accept Singapore A Level grades (H2 Level) for undergraduate courses.

If you have taken polytechnic diplomas from recognised polytechnics in Singapore, we can typically accept grades ranging from 2.7 to 3.5. 

Students taking APs or SATIIs should refer to entry requirements for the USA.

Masters courses

We offer a wide range of postgraduate masters degree programmes across our five faculties. Full-time masters courses typically last for one year.

Masters entry requirements

A bachelors degree from a recognised university will be considered for masters entry.

Typical minimum GPA requirements from National University of Singapore are CAP 3.5 to 4.0 out of 5.0.

Research courses

Our PhD courses, available across a wide range of subject areas, typically include three years of full time research followed by an optional writing-up period of one year to complete your thesis.

PhD entry requirements

A masters and bachelors degree from a recognised university are usually required for PhD entry.

Typical minimum GPA requirements from National University of Singapore are CAP 3.5 to 4.0 out of 5.0.

For all research degrees, we recommend that you make initial enquiries with a potential supervisor or the relevant University of Nottingham school / department before applying. A research proposal is required when submitting your application.
