Our guide to Clearing for international students

1

Results Day

Depending on the qualifications you have taken you may need to contact universities you have received offers from to provide them with your exam results. If you already have an offer from the University of Nottingham, you can find out more about confirming your results in our undergraduate applicants' area.

Got the results you wanted or higher?

Congratulations! You may also have even more course options available to you. Adjustment will be available from 16 August 2018 but you may also be able to make new study plans through international Clearing from 5 July onwards.

Lower grades than expected?

Don't worry. You can still apply for other courses through Clearing which opens on 5 July.

2

Consider your options

Perhaps you're now considering a different academic path? Take a look at what else is on offer to you.

Course lists are available from the UCAS website and you can find out the entry requirements on most university websites – their Clearing information won't be too hard to find!

3

Talk to universities

Get your UCAS number ready, contact the university you’re interested in and start asking questions about their available courses.

Their contact details will usually be displayed prominently on webpages about Clearing and Adjustment.

Top tip

Many universities will offer informal offers over the phone, so get a good selection and consider your options.

4

Finalise your decision

If you’ve made your decision then don’t forget to finalise it on the UCAS Track website by the deadline given to you by your selected university.

Clearing

Just add the course details in the 'Add Clearing choice' section of UCAS Track.

If your chosen university have confirmed you onto the course then the 'Choices' page of UCAS Track will show as an 'Acceptance'.

Congratulations – time to start packing!

Adjustment

You can 'Register for Adjustment' on the 'Choices' section of UCAS Track.

If your chosen university have confirmed you onto the course then the 'Choices' page of UCAS Track will then show as an 'Acceptance'.

You’ve done it!

Top tips

  • Research what course you would like to do. Visit UCAS and university websites to find out more.
  • Check our guidance on entry requirements for students from your country applying to Nottingham. Other universities may provide their own guidance on qualifications.
  • Make sure YOU call the university, not a parent or guardian (except for extenuating circumstances).
